Building Entrance PhotoOn July 4th, 1914, aviation came to Frankfort, Indiana on the wings of a Wright biplane. More than 7,000 people were said to have come from miles around to see the show. It was not until 1960 that an airport was constructed and dedicated at its present location. The city of Frankfort assumed responsibility 12 years later.

Under the watchful eyes of the Frankfort Aviation Board, Frankfort Municipal Airport is today among the finest regional airports in the state of Indiana.

Montgomery Aviation became the Fixed Base Operator and Airport Manager August 15th, 2005, and soon thereafter held a community open house. Re-opening Frankfort Municipal to the public is only one of the many improvements made by Montgomery.

Among the enhancements now in the planning stages are a new parallel taxiway and new WAAS approach.

Located on State Road 28, Frankfort Municipal Airport is convenient to Lafayette while serving the general aviation needs of Clinton and surrounding counties.
